YOMA Project was born from the belief that art’s role is to respond to the reality surrounding it and to provoke thought in its viewers. The project invites women—of all ages and backgrounds, professional dancers and non-professional performers alike—to participate in a research and performative creation group that responds to the current situation.

During the process, a reading and discussion group is formed to explore texts that accompany the work and serve as intellectual raw material for movement-performative research. 

The work invites an observation of the body as a vessel for life memories, examining how time and gender shape these experiences. Furthermore, the project offers a reflection on the issue of our "bystander presence" as women and citizens in Israel. it addresses feminine phenomenology not as a default, but as a fundamental choice, attempting to offer a different approach to the "masculine-militant" Israeli sphere—a longing for forgiveness and reconciliation, and a search for a consciousness of hope and peace.

Project Stages:

The first group was formed in the winter of 2024–25 in Tel Aviv, with participants Ella Padber (28), Orin Lev-Or (30), Jenny Birger (39), Tami Seifert (65), and Tamar Nathaniel (80). The Tel Aviv group was operated with the support of Studio Naim.

In the autumn of 2025, the work was accepted for development as part of an artist-in-residence program at Beit HaRishonim, Emek Hefer. The group that formed the performing ensemble included: Shani Breitner Meltzer (45), Sigalit Lihi Gerbi (60), Bili Bilha Bar Chaim (70), Yaara Ravitzky, Yonat Delski Cohen (62), Mika Gal (26), Doron Shoshan (65), Kai Rothschild (32), Ramit Kovach (40), Edna Stav (70), and Iris Sivan (62).
